We have a New Owner!

We are thrilled to introduce our new owner, Katharine C. Hershey, a longtime resident of Queen Anne and loyal customer of our independent, neighborhood bookstore. She plans a seamless transition with the intent of maintaining the store’s tradition of community involvement.

“This fulfills a lifelong dream I’ve had to own a bookstore, and most particularly to be a part of Queen Anne Books,” said Hershey. “This store is such an important part of the Queen Anne neighborhood. Clearly, bookstores and bookselling are in a time of huge transition. It is my goal to maintain our traditional bookselling model while embracing marketplace changes.”

Night CircusWe all love end of the year Top Ten lists - who doesn't? Each December while the store is full and the books are flying, we are also agonizing over our favorite books of the year and how to rank them. The number one position is all-important because that helps to determine our Queenie Award Winner (our store favorite book of the year).
